So, I remember once I took my wife to a restaurant, I think it was called the Lotus Restaurant, if my memory serves me right.

Anyway, it was a run-of-the-mill restaurant, nothing to write home about, but it had excellent food and a really good reputation.

So, it was my wife’s birthday and to celebrate, I decided to go to the restaurant, one of her favourite restaurants;  just the two of us, right.

It really is her favourite place to eat out, and she loves their signature dish which is a roast duck, done Chinese style. It was a Chinese restaurant.

When we get there, we sat down, the waiter came over with the menu and my wife ordered the roast duck. But it was off, there was no roast duck.

So that was a bit of a set back, but we said, well we ordered the ribs, they had roast ribs, so we ordered those instead.

And we waited patiently, and we waited quite a long time – in fact 40 minutes or so. Then finally, when the food arrived, it was undercooked and it was cold.

We asked the waiter, we summoned the waiter over, and said listen we are really sorry but this is undercooked and it is cold

The waiter was so apologetic, he was a very nice, humble waiter, and said I am really, really sorry, I don’t know how that happened.

He changed the dish straight away, and we got a new dish that was great and it was absolutely delicious.

What’s more, the waiter came over and said we are really sorry we would like to offer you a drink on the house, free of charge just to make up for that  mistake.

So, we did, we had the drink, we finished off the meal and it was lovely. We had a really, really nice evening.

All in all – we left content – pleased as punch with the whole evening. It was great.
